Volunteer Positions

POSITION DESCRIPTION – NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION CHAIR

 

1.0 Goal:  To welcome new members to the affiliate and explain the benefits of membership.  The Director of Volunteer Services provides assistance and guidance as needed.

 

2.0 Objectives:

·  Conduct new member orientation after the early bird speaker at each dinner meeting.  

·  Distributes President’s welcome letter and new member pins.

 

3.0 Time Commitment:

·  The Chair is welcome, but not required to attend BOD meetings.

·  Estimated Effort – attendance at each meeting.

POSITION DESCRIPTION – PHOTOGRAPHER

 

1.0 Goal:  To capture important moments in the history of the affiliate.  The Director of Communication provides assistance and guidance as needed.

 

2.0 Objectives:

·  The photographer takes pictures at affiliate functions including meetings, seminars, special events as needed.  

·  The photographer provides pictures to the Director of Communication for posting to the website. 

 

3.0 Time Commitment:

·  The Chair is welcome, but not required to attend BOD meetings.

·  Estimated Effort – 1 hour per month, plus attendance at each meeting.

POSITION DESCRIPTION – SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE CHAIR

 

1.0Goal:  This Chair has main responsibility for ensuring that the scholarships are awarded according to the policies of ISM-NCA.  The Director of Education provides assistance and guidance as needed.

 

2.0Objectives:

·  The Chair accepts and reviews scholarship applications along with other members of the committee. 

·  The Chair reports back to the Board on the results of the application process each year.

·  The Chair provides updated application information to the Director of Communication for posting on the web site.

·  The Chair provides and instructs the Association Manager to mail the information to the appropriate educational institutions.

·  The Chair serves as main point of contact or “Student Coordinator” with student members and  provides outreach services as needed.

 

3.0Time Commitment:

·  The Chair is welcome, but not required to attend BOD meetings.

·  Estimated Effort – 1 hour per month with peak effort during February – April.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION – SPEAKER COMMITTEE CHAIR

 

1.0Goal:  This Chair has main responsibility for identifying and engaging speakers for the Early Bird smeiniars and the dinner meetings.  The Director of Education provides assistance and guidance as needed.  

 

2.0Objectives:

·  The Chair identifies and solicits speakers for the Early Bird seminars and the dinner  meetings.  

·  The Chair coordinates with the Association manager to ensure the speakers details can be included in the meeting invitations.

·  The Chair coordinates with the Director of Communication so that speaker information can be posted on the web site.

 

3.0Time Commitment:

·  The Chair is welcome, but not required to attend BOD meetings as well.

·  Estimated Effort – 8 Early Bird seminars and eight dinner meetings per year, September to November, January to May.
