Summary:

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Sourcing Manager with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

The Commercial Sourcing Manager is responsible for identifying and managing short and long-term sourcing strategies, contracts and relationships for their specified commodities within our commercial operating groups.

Develop Sourcing Strategy for Materials in the Commercial Construction Market.

  • Identify and engage with internal stakeholders to capture commodity requirements
  • Assess opportunity for material type including spend segmentation, commodity maturity, cost drivers, supplier landscape and supply market analysis
  • Develop Sourcing Strategy for material type detailing projects, sourcing levers, timing, resources, and expected benefits, such as margin expansion and value to the customer.
  • Adapts the strategy as business, market, and economic environments change
  • Support Quarterly and Annual Reviews including updated projects, metrics, strategy, and countermeasures Manage Relationships with Key Suppliers

Maintain relationship with suppliers at the Leadership level

  • Conducts supplier business reviews
  • Monitor supplier's quality and delivery performance
  • Leverage relationship to assist buyers with expedites, quality issues, and special requirement as needed

Achieve Material Cost Reductions for Commercial Market Materials

  • Initiates and conducts supplier contract negotiations
  • Responsible for defining negotiations strategy including supplier profiles, commercial negotiations targets, defining switching costs, and building Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Analyzes market drivers affecting the material (raw material, component availability, supply and demand, etc.)
  • Responsible for forecasting, reporting, mitigating, and recovery of commodity inflation

Education:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience strategically managing material spend
  • Knowledge of construction processes and materials

This position requires up to 30% travel and is located in Golden Valley, MN

  • Experience in managing last mile delivery operations preferred

Summary:

Mortenson is currently hiring a Supply Chain and Equipment Coordinator at our Headquarters in Golden Valley, MN. The Supply Chain and Equipment Coordinator would be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the Equipment and Supply Chain department. This position plays an integral role in managing a wide range of processes on behalf of the Project teams, Equipment Facility Teams, Buyers and Equipment Supply Management(ESM) HQ Leadership. This role is critical in support of 1000+ vehicle fleet & 80 person Equipment and Supply Chain team spread across North America

Responsibilities:

  • Support company fleet through driver support, vehicle ordering and invoice reconciliation
  • Support a large Supply Chain and Equipment team through procurement card invoice processing, travel booking, event coordination & expense reports
  • DOT driver file support
  • Personnel file management
  • New Team Member orientation
  • Facilitate and manage team member training log
  • HQ floor safety representative
  • Supplier contact and documents maintenance
  • Systems support (Staples, Equipment Watch, Egencia, Wheels, IProcurement & Rental Results)
  • Management of team calendar

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience required
  • 3 plus years in an administrative position with large company
  • 3 plus years working in a customer service service focused industry with exceptional customer service skills both to your internal and external customers
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to be flexible at a moments notice
  • Proven positive and professional attitude
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus
  • Current driver's license required
