Dear Members of ISM-NCA:
I am honored to be serving as your President for our affiliate for 2017 – 2018 and look forward to the new term year. I hope that each of you find and use the services our organization continues to provide you for education, training, networking and certification.
We will be hosting several interesting speakers that will talk to a wide range of topics within Supply Chain Management and which will provide you credit towards your certifications. We will also be holding “Supplier Nights” which give direct exposure to suppliers within our participating industries and procurement career professionals.
I strongly encourage each of you to get credit for years of your professional experience by applying towards a CPSM and CPSD certification. You may be a lot closer to your certification than you are aware, and I would not want you to miss out on the wondrous access and opportunities that having a professional certification can provide you in your respective careers!
Please note that while we are a service organization designed inherently to support your career goals and knowledge, we are also volunteer and dynamic in nature, and depend on members to support us not only with their paid memberships, but with occasional participation by any of the following:
Attending monthly dinner meetings.
Attending a board meeting as guest member.
Providing names / contacts of suppliers to assist with our Supplier Nights.
Participating in networking sessions and other outreach events.
Becoming a future member of the board of directors.
Your assistance with any of the above actions will be greatly appreciated by your board and the membership at large.
Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or suggestions on how we can better serve your needs and address any issues you have in the career of Supply Chain Management. I look forward to meeting each of you at our next ISM-NCA Dinner Meeting in September.
As my term as President of ISM – NCA draws to a close, I would like to thank all the Board members, volunteers, and ISM-NCA chapter members for their support and enthusiasm. I’m sure you share with me an equal passion for the future that lies ahead for Purchasing professionals and the profession of Supply Management.
We’ve had several knowledgeable and insightful speakers at our dinner meetings that provided information on significant topics such as negotiation strategy, industry trends, and purchasing best practices. Our Early Bird educational sessions were consistently well attended and highly regarded. These types of professional development opportunities are part of what makes membership in ISM-NCA so important and critical in personal and professional advancement.
In addition, we had a very successful Supplier Night that contributed toward members interacting directly with key area Suppliers which also allowed Suppliers to meet with key Purchasing professionals. Supplier Night benefited ISM-NCA with needed financial support and the indirect benefit of enhancing our profile and level of awareness within both the Purchasing and Supplier communities.
I look forward to doing my best to contribute to ISM-NCA in the capacity of Past President and I intend to assist the Board in its future endeavors. We are indeed fortunate to have the skills and expertise of our new incoming President, Frank Beachem, to guide ISM-NCA into the next year and tackle the challenges ahead. I look forward to working with Frank for a successful 2017-2018 term and continuing my work with the membership as we all strive to maintain the highest standards of Purchasing professionalism and integrity.
Thank you again for your support and cooperation during the past year!
